Alexandra Fields
Director of D.C. Programming

I am thrilled to join this incredible organization and continue my lifelong dedication to working with youth in the Washington DC area. My educational journey began at Saint Augustine's University, where I pursued a degree in Psychology. I was fascinated by the complexities of human behavior and development, which laid the foundation for my future work. Seeking to deepen my knowledge in counseling, I furthered my studies at Bowie State University. I believe that every individual deserves equal opportunities and respect, and I am committed to fostering inclusive environments where everyone can thrive. My personal experiences have shaped my journey and fueled my determination to make a difference. Overcoming numerous challenges, I have witnessed the transformative power of storytelling. To enhance my ability to inspire and motivate others through narrative, I pursued a certification in Public Narrative from the Inspire Leadership School. Beyond my professional pursuits, I find joy in the company of my fur babies, who bring unconditional love and happiness into my life. As a self-proclaimed food critic, I am always on the lookout for new culinary experiences and flavors that tantalize my taste buds. Additionally, dance serves as both a form of self-expression and a source of solace, allowing me to connect with my inner creativity. With over a decade of experience and a passion for empowering youth, I am honored to lead Generation Hope's DC Programming. Together, we will create a brighter future and empower the next generation to reach their full potential.

Camille Hall
Fall Intern — Mental Health Intern

Hello everyone! My name is Camille Hall and I am the Mental Health Intern at Generation Hope this fall. I just graduated from the University of Maryland College Park where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During my time in undergrad, I was involved in an organization called Latina Pathways which provided latina immigrants pathways to higher education. I was also involved in the Multiracial Biracial Student Association which fostered an inclusive and diverse community at the University. I am excited to work at an organization like Generation Hope that advocates for educational and race equity. I am honored to be a part of the mental health team specifically as mental health wellness is a huge passion of mine. In my free time, I like to read, paint, and spend time with loved ones.

Fortune Iheanetu
Fall Intern — Programs Intern

Hi Everyone! I’m Fortune Iheanetu (she/her) and I will be interning at Generation Hope as part of the Programs Team. I’m a Junior at Siena College majoring in Political Science and minoring in Women's Gender Studies. In my spare time, I love exploring DC, catching up with friends from  and going to shows/concerts. Living in Washington DC and being a part of Generation Hope has provided me with valuable skills, advice, and networking opportunities. These opportunities will help me achieve my academic and professional goals. I am excited for my journey at Generation Hope!

Maggie Liu
Assistant Director of Growth & Strategy

Hey friends. My name is Maggie, and I am thrilled to be joining the Generation Hope family! I describe myself as a professional “do-gooder.” It all started with joining the Peace Corps after college and serving for two years as a youth and community development volunteer. After that life-changing experience, I returned to the U.S. with a mission to make a positive impact. I have over a decade of diverse public service experiences, which include connecting adults with developmental disabilities with employment opportunities, supporting minority, immigrant, and women-owned businesses in launch and expansion, and mentoring global youth leaders to be gender equity advocates for themselves and girls around the world. 

Yearning to leave sunny, beautiful southern California and go somewhere I’ve never been, I exclusively applied to universities in the midwest and landed at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. *This started my life journey from Taiwan to CA>IL>SKN>MO>NY>DC>TN and back to DC. I earned my BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and my MPA in Urban and Social Policy from Columbia University. I am an experienced backpacker and advocate of solo female backpacking. My hobbies include 1,000pc puzzles, rollerblading, and eating (I am food-driven). My hobby du jour (for the past 3 years) has been consuming as much true crime as possible. My current life goals include running the NYC marathon and hiking the entire Appalachian Trail, one section at a time. I live in Northeast DC with my new husband and our two fur babies.

Robyn Myers
D.C. Scholar Program Coordinator

Hi All!  My name is Robyn and I am excited to join Generation Hope. I am dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth and fostering community engagement within communities and have a strong commitment to eliminating barriers to education. I have had the privilege of working with students facing various challenges as a McKinney-Vento Coordinator/ Community Liaison within Frederick County Public Schools.   Recently, my passion for working with young adults encouraged me to return to school and pursue a certificate in Restorative Practices through the International Institute of Restorative Practices.  

Outside of work and school, I enjoy ANY dance fitness class, travel, live music (especially all the 90’s artists that are currently on tour), and trying new recipes. I call Frederick, MD home but love to explore the DMV with my two children, Isaiah and Jasmine.   I am excited to join Generation Hope and look forward to contributing to its mission of supporting and uplifting the Generation Hope family. 

Brittany Nixon
Grants & Foundations Manager

As a native daughter of the DMV, having witnessed first-hand the rapid economic growth of the region, I am personally and professionally dedicated to increasing equitable access to resources for historically marginalized communities.

I studied Psychology at Xavier University of Louisiana and, over the past 15 years, have worked in all facets of non-profit development, including grant writing and management; corporate, government and foundation relations; and the execution of impactful fundraising events. As Generation Hope’s Grants and Foundations Manager, I am responsible for implementing new cultivation strategies, fostering relationships with GH’s growing funder base, and increasing funder contributions and retention. 

I volunteer for and advise several local community organizations that are dedicated to eradicating poverty and helping communities of color to thrive. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and loved ones.

Marcus Ware
Strategic Partnerships Manager

I'm excited to be the new Strategic Partnerships Manager and to join the Learning and Innovation team to share our work with institutions all around the country. I was raised in a small town in Alabama and know that access to higher education is still elusive for too many, especially people of color from rural communities. Since moving to Washington, DC for college to begin my career, I've devoted my professional and personal life to creating more opportunity for talented students of color from around the country.

Before joining Generation Hope, I served as a Senior Program Manager at the Aspen Institute and United Negro College Fund (UNCF), with deep experience building relationships and providing assistance to senior executives with the goal of minimizing equity-based retention and graduation gaps and increasing institutional capacity to better support students from low-income backgrounds. I've also worked at both Howard and George Washington Universities, leading front-line programs to support the academic, personal and professional success of undergraduate students. 

A PROUD BISON, I earned both a Bachelor of Art and Juris Doctorate degree from Howard University, with dynamic experiences ranging from service as student body president, on the staff, and as a voting member of the Board of Trustees. Outside of work, I enjoy college football (ROLL TIDE!), travel, and visiting art museums all across America.

Brittani Williams
Director of Advocacy Policy & Research

I am a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and currently make significant contributions as an Higher Education policy leader in Washington, D.C. focusing on parenting students, college affordability and P20 pathways. Alongside my professional role, I am a doctoral candidate at Texas Tech University, where I am conducting research on black mothering students navigating higher education. I am an inaugural graduate fellow alum for Howard University's Center for HBCU Research Leadership and Policy, showcasing my dedication and commitment to advancing educational opportunities for historically marginalized populations. My research focused on a comprehensive definition and policy-to-practice framework of basic needs for graduate students. I also serve on the Board of Advisors for the Data-to-Action Campaign for Parenting Students hosted by Urban Institute.

My research interests are rooted in my commitment to improving postsecondary support and outcomes for historically under supported students. I aim to address the systemic barriers and inequalities that hinder their educational and sustainable career attainment. 

I strive to create a more equitable and inclusive higher education system.
