What is the FamilyU Cohort?
FamilyU is a customized, evidence-based program that supports institutions in creating lasting impact by:
Enhancing data collection methods to better track and support student parents.
Building institution-wide awareness of the unique needs of student parents and engaging champions to lead meaningful change.
Developing and implementing equitable, parent-friendly policies to improve student enrollment, retention, and completion.
Expanding collaborative relationships with peer institutions and experts in the field.
Participating colleges and universities will engage in peer learning, independent coaching sessions, and on-campus initiatives to drive measurable outcomes for student parents.
How to Apply
We are accepting applications from nonprofit post-secondary institutions that:
Serve undergraduate student parents in the U.S.
Demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion for underserved populations.
Are willing to share data and collaborate with the broader student-parent field.
Have a dedicated team of student parent champions ready to participate in multi-day travel for convenings.
Important Details:
Deadline: Application deadline extended to Friday, May 16, 2025, by 11:59 PM EST.
This extension will allow those in the midst of completing their application additional time to submit their full application. If your institution has just discovered our FamilyU Cohort opportunity and encounter issues with completing the required application before the deadline, please reach out to our team at familyU@generationhope.org for support.
Submission: Complete the application online (Google Chrome recommended). Save and return as needed.
Fee: $20,000 per year, with discounts for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Travel and lodging are covered for HBCUs.
