FAQs HOPE 2025 National Conference RFP
Who do I contact if I have questions about the RFP?
You can contact us at HOPEconference@generationhope.org if you have any questions.
When is the application due?
The application is due September 24th at 11:59pm ET.
When can I expect to hear back about my application?
You will be notified by October 30th about the status of your application. Please do not register for the conference until you hear from us about the status of your application. Registering in advance may prevent you from receiving a discounted registration rate.
Does registration cost for a presenter?
Yes, early bird (Oct 1 - Dec 13) registration cost for a presenter is $400. This is a 40% discount from the general conference registration fee for being a presenter.
Do I have to be in-person as a presenter?
Yes, this conference is fully in-person. Some sessions may be recorded, however all presenters must be physically present.
Do you have an example of last year’s breakout sessions?
Yes, please see here for a copy of last year’s breakout session titles and descriptions.
What sort of topics should I consider speaking on?
The theme of the HOPE conference is, “Where change happens for student parents and families.” Session topics may include (but are not limited to) data, equity, institutional policy, public policy, family/student parent voice, mental health, career and workforce, basic needs, bold leadership, and philanthropy. We hope you will consider sharing your expertise with the conference attendees, which include student parents, higher education professionals, policymakers, and funders, and system change experts from across the country.
Will you be able to offer funding to cover travel, hotel, and related expenses for presenters?
We do not cover any travel costs for presenters. You are not required to stay at the conference hotel (the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center) if it is more cost-effective for you or your team to stay elsewhere. Generation Hope will provide a discounted registration ticket for session speakers.
How many attendees do you anticipate will be at the conference, and how many will be student-parents?
We anticipate 400 attendees at the conference with approximately 70 attendees being current or former student parents.
What constituencies do you expect to attend?
Generation Hope’s national conference will have four tracks: student parent, higher education professional, policy, and nonprofit/ youth professional. In addition to these audiences, will also have sessions that include funders, media, racial equity experts, and other student parent champions.
What percentage breakdown of attendees?
Based on last year's conference, we're estimating 39% higher ed professionals, 32% current student parents and student parent alumni, 12% business professionals, and 17% nonprofit and government professionals.
Should I include my colleague who contributed to the research, but will not be present, in the RFP submission?
For now, please select the number of presenters who will be physically present at the conference. Should your session be chosen, you can include information on the non-present contributors in the requirements of participation form.
I’m an author and would like to sell my books at the conference. Is that possible?
Yes, session presenters and speakers will have the opportunity to sell their books at HOPE 2025. A form will be sent to speakers later this year to collect the relevant information.
