Britt joins Generation Hope with nearly a decade of higher education experience, primarily working on college campuses in student affairs and research and assessment. A native of Fort Worth, Texas, she holds a bachelor’s degree from Prairie View A&M University and a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs administration from Missouri State University. Her undergraduate involvement in initiatives like the White House Initiative for HBCUs sparked her advocacy for historically underrepresented populations. In college, she unknowingly became a student-parent advocate, supporting legislation through the Student Government Association advocating for family housing and student use of the on-campus childcare facility.
Britt's personal journey, as the daughter of a single mother who was raised in the segregated South, has fueled her passion for educational equity. She has always taken pride in pursuing educational opportunities that have historically not been provided to people who held many of her identities. This drive has led her to advocate for greater access and racial equity in higher education, both in policy and practice. As an advocate for data and policy reform, Britt has held research fellowships with Howard University's Center for HBCU Research Leadership and Policy and the Equity Research Cooperative (EqRC), demonstrating her unwavering commitment to ensuring that all students have access to quality education and opportunities for success. Her current pursuit of a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Leadership Policy Studies at Howard University is a testament to her dedication and thirst for knowledge.
